The Texas Commission on Human Rights Act (TCHRA) is codified in chapter 21 of the Texas Labor Code although it is commonly still referred to as the TCHRA. The TCHRA/chapter 21 of the Texas Labor Code empowers the TWC similar to the federal Equal Employment Opportunities Commission (EEOC) with analogous responsibilities at the state level.
The town was named after William C. Parker, the son of the area's first known settler, John C. Parker. It was incorporated as a city on March 22, 1969. [5] Corinth Presbyterian Church was founded in Parker in 1846, with the current sanctuary built in 1923, and is thought to be the oldest continuing congregation in Collin County. [6]
Parker was named before Parker, Collin County, Texas. The New Hope School moved two miles south to Parker and had an enrollment of 51 students with just one teacher in 1905. The school would later be annexed by the Grandview Independent School District in 1963. A fire and cyclone would hit the town in 1914, causing significant damage.
Incumbent Republican Barbara Hervey lost her party’s primary to Parker in March. The seat is one of three on the court up for election this cycle, alongside the presiding judge and Place 8.
