Mid Sussex is a local government district in West Sussex, England.The largest town is Haywards Heath, where the council is based.The district also contains the towns of Burgess Hill and East Grinstead plus surrounding rural areas, including many villages.
East Grinstead (/ ˈ ɡ r ɪ n s t ɛ d,-s t ɪ d / [2]) is a town in West Sussex, England, near the East Sussex, Surrey, and Kent borders, 27 miles (43 km) south of London, 21 miles (34 km) northeast of Brighton, and 38 miles (61 km) northeast of the county town of Chichester.
Brambletye was founded at Sidcup Place, Kent in 1919. [1] It moved to its present location in the Sussex countryside on the southern outskirts of East Grinstead in 1933. The main school building, which is in its own wooded estate of 140 acres, overlooks the Ashdown Forest and Weir Wood Reservoir.

The school was founded in 1859 as a national church school. Originally on De la Warr Road, where Chequer Mead lies today, in 1951 the school was renamed Sackville and in 1964, it was moved to its current location on Lewes Road. 1970 saw the school's first comprehensive intake, following the rapidly growing local housing estate building developments.
