The U.S. state of Alaska is divided into 19 organized boroughs and 11 census areas in the unorganized borough.Alaska, and the states of Connecticut and Louisiana are the only states that do not call their first-order administrative subdivisions counties (Connecticut uses councils of government and Louisiana uses parishes instead). Ketchikan (/ ˈ k ɛ tʃ ɪ k æ n / KETCH-ih-kan; [4] Tlingit: Kichx̱áan) is a city in and the borough seat of the Ketchikan Gateway Borough on Revillagigedo Island of Alaska. [ 5 ] [ 6 ] It is the state's southeasternmost major settlement.
