The brachioradialis is a muscle of the forearm that flexes the forearm at the elbow. [1] [2] It is also capable of both pronation and supination, depending on the position of the forearm. [2] It is attached to the distal styloid process of the radius by way of the brachioradialis tendon, and to the lateral supracondylar ridge of the humerus.
The mobile wad (or mobile wad of Henry) is a group of the following three muscles found in the lateral compartment of the forearm: [1] brachioradialis; extensor carpi radialis brevis; extensor carpi radialis longus; It is also sometimes known as the "wad of three", [2] "lateral compartment", [3] or "radial group" [4] of the forearm.
Some may argue that the tension on muscle is most significant during the mid-range, practice bicep curl with a half range of motion to let muscle generate the most force. [ 4 ] The research found that the preacher curl targets the long head of the biceps significantly only when the arm was almost fully extended, and the range of motion was short.
The deep muscles arise from the distal part of the ulna and the surrounding interosseous membrane. The brachioradialis , flexor of the elbow , is unusual in that it is located in the posterior compartment, but it is actually a muscle of flexor / anterior compartment of the forearm.
Muscles of the posterior forearm. All the labelled muscles (that is, all the visible muscles except the ones on the dorsal hand and one at top left) are innervated by the radial nerve, and represent all muscles innervated by the radial nerve except for the supinator. Muscular branches of the radial nerve: Triceps brachii; Anconeus; Brachioradialis
The medial muscular branches supply the medial head of the triceps brachii.. That to the medial head is a long, slender filament, which lies close to the ulnar nerve as far as the lower third of the arm, and is therefore frequently spoken of as the ulnar collateral nerve.
The biceps is one of three muscles in the anterior compartment of the upper arm, along with the brachialis muscle and the coracobrachialis muscle, with which the biceps shares a nerve supply. [1] The biceps muscle has two heads, the short head and the long head, distinguished according to their origin at the coracoid process and supraglenoid ...
The theory is that the radial nerve becomes irritated and/or inflamed from friction caused by compression by muscles in the forearm. [1]Some speculate that radial tunnel syndrome is a type of repetitive strain injury (RSI), but there is no detectable pathophysiology and even the existence of this disorder is questioned.
