The digitization at the most basic level is based on page images of the physical books. To make this book available as an ePub formatted file we have taken those page images and extracted the text using Optical Character Recognition (or OCR for short) technology. The extraction of text from page images is a difficult engineering task.
With e-books, users can browse through titles online, select and order titles, then the e-book can be sent to them online or the user can download the e-book. [4] By the early 2010s, e-books had begun to overtake hardcover by overall publication figures in the U.S. [5]
