There's a few things which make this era of the band complicated. During the Heaven & Hell years, Black Sabbath was officially a different, existing band. If I remember, when H&H was announced in late 2006, Ozzy and Bill Ward put out official statements saying Black Sabbath was still a band and would be back on the road in 2008.
