Kalyan thaat consists of an important group of evening ragas. Characterised by the teevra Madhyam, this thaat literally means good luck. Ragas of this thaat are considered to be a blessing-seeking and soothing. As a result, they are performed in the evening at the beginning of a concert. It is a combination of the pentatonic scale Mohanam and the Melakarta raga scale Kalyani. Amritha Kalyani is a rāga in Carnatic music [1] (musical scale of South Indian classical music) created by music composer Mahesh Mahadev [2] who has created many ragas. [ 3 ] [ 4 ] It is the Janya raga of 65th melakarta rāgam Mechakalyani in the 72 melakarta rāgam system of Carnatic music.
