The archipelago is about 5 degrees south of the equator, and has a humid tropical climate with little seasonal variation in temperature. Average annual rainfall varies with elevation, and exposure, ranging from 2,300 to 5,000 mm. There are heavy monsoon rains in the summer (November to February).
Victoria features a tropical rainforest climate (Köppen climate classification Af) with high temperatures throughout the course of the year. The capital does have noticeably wetter and drier periods during the year, with June and July being its driest months and December through February being the city's wettest months.
Seychelles generally has warm temperatures throughout the year. They get frequent and sometimes heavy rainfall. On La Digue, rainfall can be very heavy, but it usually lasts for one hour or less.
