The Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA; Arabic: الأكاديمية اللبنانية للفنون الجميلة) was originally a stand-alone Lebanese institute, now one of the faculties at the University of Balamand, teaching courses in fine art. It was founded in 1937, and it was the first national institution of higher education in Lebanon.
Fakhoury was born in Beirut in 1930, and studied painting at the Fine Arts Academy in Beirut. She traveled to Italy to continue her studies in art at the Accademia di belle arti di Roma. [1] Then she joined the Institute of Medal Art of Rome and she excelled in this area.
Formerly conceived as just a project in the Koura District, it fused administratively with the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) and St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology to become a full-blown university.

Chaouki Chamoun was born in Sarine, in the Bekaa Valley.As a school boy he worked as an art instructor to pay for the education of himself and his younger brothers, while at the same time attending art and design night schools, before finally joining the Fine Art Institute at the Lebanese University in Beirut in fall 1968, at the age of 26.
