The Anti-Cruelty Society is an animal welfare organization and animal shelter in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The Anti-Cruelty Society (SPCA of Illinois) is a private, not-for-profit humane society that does not receive government assistance. It is one of the largest such organizations in the United States.
The animal welfare organization was founded in 1976 in Garland, Texas, and later moved to Carrollton, Texas. In the early days, Operation Kindness operated out of the homes of volunteers. In the summer of 1976, Operation Kindness acquired the use of a veterinary clinic located at 117 North Garland Avenue in Garland.
Six Points lies west of Downtown Fort Worth, within an area of the city known as the Cultural District. It is the apex of where University Drive, Camp Bowie Boulevard, Arch Adams (recently renamed Van Cliburn Way), 7th Street, Lancaster, and Montgomery Street merge to form the Six Points intersection and neighborhood.

Public schooling is provided through the Chicago Ridge School District 127 1 ⁄ 2. Elden Finley Junior is Chicago Ridge's middle school. The mascot is a Viking. The colors are black, white, and gray. They provide grades 6 through 8. Ridge Central Elementary School is one of Chicago Ridge's elementary schools.
