Piatt County is a county in Illinois. According to the 2020 United States Census, it had a population of 16,673. [1] Its county seat is Monticello. [2] Piatt County is part of the Champaign–Urbana, IL Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Barnhill is an unincorporated community in Wayne County, Illinois, United States. Barnhill is west of U.S. Route 45 and north of Mill Shoals . Barnhill had a post office , which closed on March 5, 2005.

Monticello is Township 18 North, Range 6 East and part of Township 18 North, Range 5 East of the Third Principal Meridian. According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 48.11 square miles (124.6 km 2), of which 48.05 square miles (124.4 km 2) (or 99.88%) is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 km 2) (or 0.12%) is water.
