The Royal Gorge is a canyon of the Arkansas River located west of Cañon City, Colorado.The canyon begins at the mouth of Grape Creek, about 2 mi (3.2 km) west of central Cañon City, and continues in a west-northwesterly direction for approximately 6 mi (9.7 km) until ending near U.S. Route 50.
It is the only highway that directly connects Colorado Springs to Cañon City. The Highway Starts in Downtown Cañon City at US 50. It then crosses the Arkansas River and leaves the city. In Florence, SH 115 Overlaps SH 67 from Pikes Peak Avenue to Robinson Avenue.
Cañon City Downtown Historic District is a historic district in Cañon City, Colorado. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. [ 1 ] The historic district listing was based on a 1981 survey by city staff; a 2004-05 survey has been completed which updates and expands upon it.
