The Southwest Symposium on Image Analysis and Interpretation is the IEEE biennial conference on image analysis, computer vision and pattern recognition. [1] It is considered, together with CVPR, the major conference in interpretation of images and video in the United States. [2] It was first held in San Antonio, TX in April, 1996.
In 1994, Texas A&M would have won the Southwest Conference title with a 6–0–1 record, but they were ruled ineligible for the conference title and postseason play due to NCAA sanctions.
