Our seniors, age 60 and over, can participate and enjoy a variety of activities held throughout the Town at our Community Centers and Parks.
The Department of Sanitary Collection Services picks up nearly 1,000 tons of garbage each collection day. This department also oversees the collection of recyclables and yard waste as well as the STOP and Homeowner’s Cleanup Programs at the Solid Waste Disposal Complex.

There is no Recycling collection on the following holidays (when they fall on a regular collection day): New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Art in the Park is run by the Town’s Department of Community & Youth Services, Cultural and Performing Arts Division. The event focuses on hand-crafted goods, including ceramics, watercolors, glass, jewelry, wood, leather, sculpture and more. For more information, please call (516) 797-7932.
Town of Oyster Bay residents are urged to bring all household and hazardous waste to one of the offered homeowners recycling programs such as the S.T.O.P. Collection days or a Homeowners Cleanup event.
