It is the same library that drove Legacy Google Maps. Google Maps (the service) does not expose the map vectors in a way that could easily be saved. This could only possibly work using hacks. Modern Google Maps (with “smooth zooming”) is fully vector-based, however the Maps Javascript application displays these vectors in a <canvas> element ...
Scroll to or find maps.google.com in the (inner) search box; Click the more button on the far right; Click "Remove from list" Next time I searched on Google Maps, everything started working as expected.
1. Finally! Starting from GPX file, grab your Android phone, install My Tracks. Upload your file into /mnt/scard/MyTracks/gpx at the phone. Then run MyTracks and import the file (lengthy process). Then upload it again this time from MyTracks app into Google Maps. Phew ;-)
Even if the Google Drive capacity is much larger, e.g. 2Tb. e.g. in my own case, my system drive partition is 422Gb. Google drive mounted as G is same size but with a little less free space even though my actual google drive in the cloud is 2Tb. Previous solutions mentioned can also be considered.
I can check/uncheck Layers -> Border and Labels -> Borders -> 1st Level Admin Borders (States/Provinces) (Names too): If checked, I see US states (California, etc.) which I want to see. But, I also see the subdivision of other countries, like the division of Israel into 6 provinces. If unchecked, I don't see US states.
