Jun 27, 2011. #12. $2500 seems like a awful lot for a hot water heater. To give you the other end of the spectrum I replaced my tank-less oil fired DHW water heater with an 80 gl. electric water heater for about $200. I got the heater used form Cl ($50) and installed myself.

Western mn. Jan 2, 2017. #3. If you are sucking air you have a leak (obviously) but it should leak oil too. Clean or replace the filter on your tank, if it is sucking too hard it can develop a air leak and not drip oil, don't buy into the scam. Start over with refrigeration copper line and flare fittings.

Legionaires thrives around 77-113*. You can always drain it to be on the safe side, good time to blow it down too. I'd probably just valve it, when its time to use it, heat the water up to 160* then flush the system. Exactly! Well said sir! Valve it off and drain the indirect in the summer.
