SWAC Coach of the Year (2012) Ben Jobe Award (2012) Sean Woods (born March 29, 1970 [ 2 ] ) is an American former basketball player and former head coach for the Southern Jaguars basketball team.
The Jaguars, led by second-year head coach Sean Woods, played their home games at the F. G. Clark Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 17–15, 13–5 in SWAC play to finish in second place.
The Jaguars finished the 2022–23 season 15–17, 11–7 in SWAC play, to finish in fourth place. [1] As the #4 seed in the SWAC tournament, they were defeated by #5 seed Alabama A&M. [2] On March 23, 2023, it was announced that head coach Sean Woods was fired after five years at the helm. [3]
