The Zastava M48 (Serbo-Croatian: Puška M.48 7,9 mm / Пушка M.48 7,9 mm, "Rifle M.48 7.9 mm") is a post World War II Yugoslav version of the Belgian designed M24 series with some influence from German Karabiner 98k.
These rifles were never used extensively until they were warehoused, in 1948, as the newer Yugoslav-made Zastava M48 came into being. Some of these rifles were used in a sniper rifle role during the Yugoslav Wars of 1990s. The rifles have been adapted, through machining, to accept new locally-made telescopic sights-the ZRAK series.
