The Joint University Programmes Admissions System (Chinese: 大學聯合招生辦法), commonly known as JUPAS (聯招), is a centralised admissions system for full-time undergraduate programmes in Hong Kong.
It was originally the entrance examination in University of Hong Kong until the introduction of the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) in 1992, which made it the major university entrance examination for all local universities until academic year 2011/2012.
HKU was ranked #17 worldwide in QS 2025, #35 worldwide in THE 2025, #88 worldwide in ARWU 2023, and #44 worldwide in U.S. News 2024. The Aggregate Ranking of Top Universities (ARTU), which sorts universities based on their aggregate performance across THE , QS , and ARWU , found that HKU was the 42nd best-ranked university worldwide in 2023.
The Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) is the main route of application designed to assist students holding Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) or Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) results in applying for admission to universities in Hong Kong.
