The UCCU Center (originally known as the McKay Events Center), is a multi-purpose arena on the campus of Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, Utah, United States. It was built in 1996 and is home to the Utah Valley Wolverines basketball team.
As of Fall Semester 2018, the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE) reported [7] UVU as the largest university in the state for the fourth year in a row with 39,931 students, [8] surpassing the University of Utah. UVU is the largest employer in Orem, [9] with over 1,900 full-time faculty and staff and over 3,300 part-time faculty and staff. [10]
The ballpark serves as a shared facility for Utah Valley State University and the Orem Owlz. The Owls of the Pioneer League were an affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, who had played the previous four seasons as the Provo Angels. The Utah Valley Wolverines baseball team represents Utah Valley University, which is located in Orem, Utah. The Wolverines are an NCAA Division I college baseball program that competes in the Western Athletic Conference. They joined NCAA Division I in 2009. They formerly played in the Great West Conference from 2008 to 2013. [2]
The Orem campus is for eleventh and twelfth grade students. It is located on the Northern end of the UVU campus at 940 W 800 S, Orem, UT, 84058. Classes are scheduled to meet both the college and high school graduation requirements. UCAS was created along with six similar schools by former governor of Utah Michael Leavitt.
The Stephen and Mary Bunnell House was at 970 S. 800 West, on the Utah Valley University campus, Orem, Utah was built in 1892. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996, [1] and was delisted in 2023. [2] It was the farmhouse of a 60-acre (24 ha) farm with an orchard; it is now within the college campus. [3]
