This is a list of racetracks which have hosted IndyCar Series racing.. Since 1996, INDYCAR events have been held on 45 different tracks – 24 ovals, 10 road courses, 10 street circuits, and 1 combined road course. – spread across five countries: the United States, Japan, Canada, Australia, [note 1] and Brazil.
The track opened in 1967, named Jefco Speedway. Tom Pistone won the inaugural event, a NASCAR Late Model Sportsman race. [1] Two NASCAR Grand National races were held at the track in 1968 and 1969, won by Cale Yarborough and Bobby Isaac. Since 1983, the track has held the World Crown 300 for late model stock cars. [2]
The track held 28 races on the NASCAR Grand National tour between 1955 until 1971. It also hosted two NASCAR Busch Grand National (now Xfinity Series ) tour races in 1983. The April 10, 1971, race at Greenville-Pickens Speedway was the first NASCAR race nationally televised from start to finish, on ABC Wide World of Sports .

Iowa Speedway is a 0.875 mi (1.408 km) oval short track in Newton, Iowa. Since its inaugural season of racing in 2006, the track has hosted a variety of racing events, including events sanctioned by NASCAR and IndyCar. NASCAR has owned the facility since 2013, with Eric Peterson currently serving as the track's president.
