Regardless of disagreements about the description of the ending in the plot synopsis, I think Vito and Joe being named needs to stick. They were well established as characters for a decade by the time this remake came out, and Vito is explicitly named in the subtitles when he speaks his lines of dialogue in Mafia: Definitive Edition.
