Friends Seminary, established by members of the Religious Society of Friends, whose members are known as Quakers, was founded in 1786 as Friends' Institute through a $10,000 bequest of Robert Murray, a wealthy New York merchant. It was located on Pearl Street in Manhattan and strived to provide Quaker children with a "guarded education."

Oakwood Friends School is a college preparatory school located at 22 Spackenkill Road in Poughkeepsie, New York, United States. With roots going back to Nine Partners Boarding School, founded in 1796, it is the oldest co-educational boarding and day school in New York state.
He held the Doctor of Theology degrees from Northern Baptist Seminary and from the University of Basel in Switzerland. [4] In 2005, Fuller was honored at an awards convocation for 50 years of service to the seminary. [5] His papers from 1928 to 2000 are held in the archives and special collections of the Fuller Theological Seminary. [6]
