William H. Blizzard (September 19, 1892 – July 31, 1958) was an American union organizer, a commander of the miners' army during the Battle of Blair Mountain, and president of District 17 of the United Mine Workers (UMWA).

Kennedy was subsequently elected to the District 7 board of the Mine Workers union in 1908, and as District 7 president in 1910; he served until 1925. During this time, he was UMWA's chief negotiator for contracts with Anthracite coal mine owners. In 1925, he was elected UMWA's secretary-treasurer.
Sarah Rebecca Blizzard (née Rogers; October 6, 1864 – September 28, 1955) was an American labor activist involved with the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA). She was the mother of UMWA officer Bill Blizzard, and was known to the coal miners as "Mother" or "Ma" Blizzard. UMWA President Cecil Roberts is her great-grandson. [1]
