The Dandy Annual is the name of a book that has been published every year since 1938, to tie in with the children's comic The Dandy. As of 2023 [update] there have been 86 editions. [ 1 ] The Dandy Annual still continues to be published, even though the weekly comic ended in 2013.

Nigel Auchterlounie is a British comics artist and cartoonist. His artwork featured heavily in the children's comic The Dandy, often writing the strips himself.. The final printed edition was issued on 4 December 2012, the comic's 75th anniversary, [5] after sales slumped to 8,000 a week. [4] On the same day, The Dandy relaunched as an online comic, The Digital Dandy, appearing on the Dandy website and in the Dandy App. The digital relaunch was not successful and the comic ended just six months later.
Puss 'n' Boots appear in the Dandy Annual 2009, drawn by Nigel Parkinson. They also feature in the 2012 annual drawn by Nigel Auchterlounie . Similarly themed strips appeared in The Dandy in the 1980s, called Mutt and Moggy which was also drawn by John Geering, and in The Beano in the 2010s under the name Meebo and Zuky .
