Bowling Green Independent School District (BGISD) is a school district headquartered in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It includes inner portions of Bowling Green, while outer portions are in Warren County Public Schools .
Warren County Public Schools was established in 1908 by the Warren County Board of Education in conjunction with the Trustees of the Bowling Green Schools. [1] In 2021, the district was considering changing some elementary school attendance boundaries even though some parents opposed this.
The consolidated school was located at the site of Warren County High School. With the school's population rising to over 2,000 students by 1990, a new high school, Greenwood High School, was created in the district to alleviate the strain. In 1995, a nickel tax was passed that raised funds for renovations for the school.
