Just wondering what you guys think is a superior round. My use will be for coyote hunting and paper punching. I also do not see myself shooting at anything (live) past 400-500 yards but want that capability to be able to shoot at least to 600 yards for target shooting ect... I realize that the...
I am going to put together a prairie dog rig. I had my mind made up on a 22-250 and a buddy told me to go with the 223 because the recoil isn't as much and you get to see more of your kills. He says that is the most fun part of dog hunting. I plan on reloading because I have bought all the...
I am going through hunters ed and considering caliber Before MISTAKINGLY THINKING 308 WAS A GOOD IDEA, decided to do some research and ask various places Im planning to go coyote hunting this fall but stuck with what caliber to choose 223 vs 243 vs 22-250 Ammo availability: 223 🎯, then 243...
Get both mate, Ive got 3 sako 85s LVSS a .223 , 22-250 and a .260....will be using the 250 from 400-550 maybe 600yds and have used the .223 to smack bunnies out to 450yds. Both are very accurate but if your content to limit your self to about 450yds well then I would stick with the .223.

Want a 22 caliber rifle that's capable, low recoiling with good component availability. The 22-250 AI launching an 80-90gr bullet looks really good. 223 AI also looks good and has the best component availability. These are my 2 frontrunners. 224 Valk and 22Nosler aren't truly unobtainium...
Re: 223 vs 22-250 My custom 22-250 is on about 2,000 rounds and is still shooting one hole groups at 200 yards. If you build on a Rem 700 action get a fast twist barrel in the 7.5 to 8 twist range to handle the heavier 70-90 grain bullets.
Been shooting a 223 now for some 35 years. You will not be disappointed with it's ability to take deer and it is a easy kicking gun too. Please get him something he is comfortable with and has confidence in too.A mod.7 comes to mine and they are good accurate rifles. The CZ is also a mighty fine made rifle in 223,very accurate also.I shoot lots of 55 gr.hollow points in mine.I load mine also.
Currently building a coyote hunting rifle and between the two calibers. Just wondering if there is someone who has been in the same boat. It is an 18" proof bbl. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
I am wanting another caliber rifle. Right now I have 2 custom rifles in .308 and want something a little different. I was thinking about a 22-250 because ammo is very cheap for it and there is plenty of ammo for it.
