It is found in Costa Rica on the Caribbean slope from the Cordillera de Guanacaste south at elevations between 300 and 900 m (1,000 and 3,000 ft). In Panama it occurs on both the Caribbean and Pacific slopes, in Bocas del Toro and Veraguas provinces and from Guna Yala south to Colombia. In Panama it ranges from near sea level to 1,000 m (3,300 ft).
