The Frontier Constabulary is headed by the Commandant, the equivalent of Inspector General of Police (BPS-22 grade) and is popularly referred to as the CFC. The Deputy Commandant is equivalent of Deputy Inspector General of Police; a District Officer is equivalent of Senior Superintendent of Police and an Assistant District Officer is the equivalent of Assistant Superintendent of Police.

The Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control (Urdu: وزارتِ داخلہ, abbreviated as MoI) is a Cabinet-level ministry of the Government of Pakistan, tasked and primarily responsible for implementing the internal policies, state security, administration of internal affairs involving the state and affairs related to narcotics control.
The Malakand Levies Force was established in 1895 with an initial strength of 192 personnel. Its main duties were to protect key government installations and communication routes. Over time this force was given additional duties. It is the only law enforcement agency in Malakand and performs the same duties as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.
