Lower Wacker Drive is the greatest gift the city planners ever bestowed upon CHICAGO, except for the time we engineered the river to take our raw sewage to St Louis. You can get from Harrison and Wells to Grand and Rush in 5 minutes using Lower Wacker, even in rush hour, it would take less than ten minutes.
On lower lower wacker there are some metered spots near N. Field Blvd, there always seem to be some availabilty. From there you can walk just a couple blocks to the new Maggie Daley park. Depending on the hours, there is also free parking at approximately 360 E. South Water street. 17.

Generally speaking, the only reason to use lower wacker is if there’s traffic on upper wacker. And if google maps takes you on lower wacker then sooner or later you’ll figure it out. Get off at either post place, Michigan ave, Columbus or LSD. One way or another, you’ll find your way to your destination.

Garland Court is my favorite way to get from downstairs to upstairs. [EDIT] Actually, the stretch I like is called McChesney, which is not shown on this map. It goes from Lower Michigan to Wacker Place.
There have been drag races on lower wicker since the 60s, probably earlier. Give me a break blaming crime on progressiveness/politics. Chicago doesn't even make top 10 most dangerous city. FBI’s NBIRS database and its Crime Data Explorer Tool has st Louis and Birmingham as the top 2.

I'm sure many of you know about the Lower Wacker shortcut, but I had no idea the underground road network was this robust.
