April 10, 2008 marked an event for Malayan Colleges Laguna, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mapua Institute of Technology, and Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc., one of the country’s largest crew management companies, as they launched the Mapúa-PTC College of Maritime Education and Training.
Founded as the Mapúa Institute of Technology on January 25, 1925, by Tomás B. Mapúa, [7] a graduate of Cornell University and the first registered Filipino architect and civil engineer Gonzalo T. Vales as an Architecture and Civil engineering school, it is the first institution in the Philippines to offer a Bachelor's degree in Architecture. [8]
Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna offers 9 accredited undergraduate programs, namely Architecture, Arts and Science, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Nursing, Health Sciences, Computer and Information Science, and Maritime Education and Training; 2 of which are enchanced from MMCL's collaboration with ASU, and 1 graduate program.

The Mapua Institute of Technology Sword & Castle Alumni Association, Incorporated (MITSCAAI) is an affiliate alumni association of National Association of Mapua Alumni (NAMA). Graduates of all schools and departments including high school and Advance ROTC automatically become members of NAMA on their graduation day.
