The Dodge 330 is a mid-size car marketed by Dodge for the 1962 model year as a trim level above the base Dodge Dart. For the 1963 and 1964 model years, the 330 was the base trim of the mid-size lineup. It is one of the first unibody vehicles using the B-Body. The 330 series was available in two-door or four-door sedan body designs. [1]
A 426 Street Wedge block was also available in 1964 and 1965. It bears little relation to the Max Wedge except for basic architecture and dimensions. The Street Wedge was available only in B-body cars (Plymouth and Dodge) and light-duty Dodge D Series trucks. It was an increased-bore version of the standard New Yorker 413 single 4-barrel engine.
Later in the year, Plymouth added an optional 383 V8 with twin, four-barrel carburettors and 335 hp (250 kW), followed by the Super Stock "Max Wedge", raised block 413-cubic inch V8. Maximum power is 410 or 420 hp (306 or 313 kW), depending on compression ratio. Only 289 examples were built. [11]

The B platform or B-body was the name of two of Chrysler's midsize passenger car platforms – at first rear-wheel drive, from 1962 through 1979; and the later, unrelated front-wheel drive platform, used by the Eagle Premier / Dodge Monaco, from 1988 through 1992.

The 409 (cubic inches) engine was one of the giants of early 1960s Super Stock and FX racing, along with other factory 'big block' competitors, the 421 Pontiacs, the 426 Max Wedge and then the 426 Hemi MoPars (Dodge and Plymouth) and the 427 FE and later the 'Cammer' Fords.
