The place for all your gaming needs! Sharing My "Best Of" Rom Packs. Over the years I've complied collections of what I consider to be "games that are worth playing" on a variety of retro systems. These are the rom sets that I use when building devices for myself or for friends. There is no real "criteria" here.

Once you get the ROMs, put them in a folder of which you know the path, then go in "Import content", "scan directory" and point it to the aforementioned folder. Hopefully, if you got your ROMs from the right place, it will scan them and add the ROMs automatically to playlists. If not, then you'll have to do a manual scan.

Go to configuration and hot keys and set a easy to use button code configuration to menu. I use R3 and L3. Place all roms you want to use in retroarch in one main folder with sub folders for the specific systems and then the roms in those folders. Go to playlist and choose import content and have it scan your main rom folder.
Using retroarch via steam, what is the best way to store the roms? If I understand correctly it can make use of the steam cloud to backup (only) the saves, I'd like to keep a single folder with all my games, so that it's easy to transfer to a new computer if necessary. Or is there a way I don't know of to make steam sync the roms too?

Safest site to download ROMS/Games for RetroArch. I want to download RetroArch on my Dell Inspiron and start playing some old Original Xbox games and maybe some GBA games too. I'm wondering what the best and SAFEST site is to download games for RetroArch. I don't want any viruses on my new laptop when downloading ROMS and games to play.
The more documentation the better. I think Retroarch is leagues above everything out there, it just literally takes some reading to get it going. I have been able to rejig my set up to accept rom loading from individual discs and even got my own internal game database in place.
