Tried that, I'm afraid. There is no McAfee product installed, as such, it's the HP-installed pop-ups prompting me to install the free McAfee LiveSafe app that I need to get rid of. When I say there's no McAfee product installed, there is literally nothing in the start menu, nothing in Control Panel.

The myHP app is popping up on its own. I haven't opened in like months maybe(?). I close it and it starts up on its own. So I let it be in the background and it starts up on its own. thanks for the prompt response, i have tried out almost all the options here but it still keeps popping out. The last one i am still trying out is the command prompt, unfortunately its not accepting the prompt (sfc/scannnow) , I will keep trying to have it off my system.
This is a new M01 F0027na Desktop running Windows 10. The HP pop-up window for software/drivers keeps popping up many times per day even though it says it is scheduled for once per week. It reports that all is OK and up to date. How to stop it?
Then bring up the 'startup" page and look for McAfee I used to have it. Had a subscription for 3 years but got rid of it after 2 as it kept trying to phone home and the servers it was trying to reach were all timing out after 30 seconds causing a long startup delay.
