Francis Marion Johnson was born on October 22, 1850, in Americus, Jackson County, Mississippi. [1] [2] He was the son of Samuel Wyles Johnson, who died at the Battle of Missionary Ridge, and Marie Louise (Graham) Johnson.
He served as clerk of the circuit and chancery courts of Jackson County from November 1883 until January 1, 1895. He was a delegate to the Mississippi Constitutional Convention of 1890.
