The Word Biblical Commentary (WBC) is a series of commentaries in English on the text of the Bible both Old and New Testament. It is currently published by the Zondervan Publishing Company . Initially published under the "Word Books" imprint, the series spent some time as part of the Thomas Nelson list.
The commentary comprises over 100 pages, and draws from a number of English translations, Bible commentaries and dictionaries. The Layman's Commentary was also published separately by Logos International, also in 1972, as ISBN 0-912106-22-0 and ISBN 0-912106-38-7.
Robert Jamieson (1802–1880) was a minister at St Paul's Church, Provanmill in Glasgow.Andrew Fausset (1821–1910) was rector of St Cuthbert’s Church in York.
