After 3 weeks, i got my resolution. Received a large packet by mail and was expected to fill it all out by hand and mail it back. Somehow, in 2020, they are not equipped to perform policy changes digitally in Michigan. Still unable to even log into my account via mobile app or web browser.
Today I check my mail and I have 8 letters from Geico, all saying the same thing and dated from around the time I tried to update. It says that apparently they can't accept my account information due to a Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act consumer report or something.
If you only have renters the GEICO app won’t work. You need an auto or motorcycle policy to see the renters insurance on the app. If you do, you might want to call customer service or give it some time if you just got the policy.
My user name and password didn't work, so I called customer support to figure out why. I got told there is no online account. Which is wrong, I've been using the mobile app for five years now, and even signed in last month to get my GEICO policy information to add a car. Customer support can't tell me why my account got deleted.
That company provided geico with info that made geico decide not to take pmts from ur checking account. That company will provide you with the info they have. And if you’re NOT in California, well then this message will self destruct, and may the Schwartz be with you while waiting another 30min on hold. I assure you, you do not want GEICO insurance. Call the service team at 800-841-7475. Pretend u already have a policy.
Geico.com found my account and offered to renew it. But it seemed to have forgotten half of my information, like zipcode, and asked me to type it in. I did. They offered a quote and said that the policy will be renewed only in June (!!), in 2 weeks. This used to be instantaneous, and it should be instantaneous.
Someone hacked my account just to cancel both my auto policies and change my address. I only found out when I saw a refund from Geico on my credit card the same day it happened. Chatted with Geico and they said I changed it because I “stated I had insurance elsewhere” (untrue). They managed to fix it, I changed my password, etc.
If the email is not business like - or not professional as described : it’s really easy to spoof the sender email address. Even if the email address looks legit, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it came from them. If you ever get strange emails regarding payments etc, just don’t follow the supplied link.
