So, i’ve recently fallen in love with the name [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], and I really want to use it for my future daughter. It works great with my sibset of classic names and it is a family name of both mine and my husbands family. The only problem is that our last name also starts with the R sound and ends with the [name_f]Ell[/name_f] sound.

They don’t rhyme that much, you didn’t name your kids [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] or anything else where the rhyming is really obvious. But if you find that the shared sound really bothers you, it sounds like you guys at least have [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] as a backup.
especially with those first names (because they rhyme as well, not because they’re inherently embarrassing by any means). It makes sense that you like rhyming names- similar construction and repeating sounds… I totally get that. But yes, if you use a name, it’s generally advised to avoid others that rhyme, or are blatantly of the same root.
