Delano (/ d ə ˈ l eɪ n oʊ / də-LAY-noh) is a city in Kern County, California, United States. Delano is located about 30 miles (48 km) north-northwest of Bakersfield [8] at an elevation of 315 feet (96 m). [1] The population was 51,428 in 2020, down from 53,041 in 2010. It is Kern County's second-largest city after Bakersfield.
