Superboy-Prime (Clark Kent, born Kal-El), also known as Superman-Prime or simply Prime, is a DC Comics superhero turned supervillain and an alternate version of Superman.The character first appeared in DC Comics Presents #87 (November 1985) [1] and was created by Elliot S. Maggin and Curt Swan (based upon the original Superboy character by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster).
The crossover began in January 2011 in the Steel one-shot published as part of the DC Icons line. The crossover continued in Outsiders #37, where Doomsday faced Eradicator, Justice League of America #55 and Superman/Batman Annual #5, both of which involved him facing Supergirl and Cyborg Superman, Superboy #6, where he faced Superboy, and Action Comics #900-904, where he faced Superman.

Superboy arrives with the rest of Superman's allies to help Superman. Lex and Lena manage to take out the rest of Brainiac's sentries and they arrive at the core of Brainiac's hive mind. Lex is tempted to betray Superman, but decides to connect his mind to the hive in order to shut down Brainiac's ship and intelligence.
Over time, his convictions and morals become twisted, and he came to believe that Earth-Prime was the only proper Earth and that he himself was the only one worthy of the Superboy mantle. Prime firmly believes that being Superman is his calling despite the fact that he has become a psychotic, murderous, and even sadistic villain.

A decade later, Brainiac 5, Sun Boy, Blok, and Invisible Kid arrive in Smallville, attracting the attention of Superman. The Legionnaires attack him, occasionally calling him Superboy. However, Superman does not recognize them, and knows of no one named Superboy except Superboy-Prime, [5] who has not been seen since the Crisis.
In the end, Superboy-Prime is pulled into the core of a red sun by both Superman of Earth-Two and Superman (Kal-El) of the main DC Universe. They crash land on Mogo, the Green Lantern that is a living planet. Under a red sun, their powers rapidly vanish. On Mogo, Superboy-Prime beats the Earth-Two Superman to death before he is defeated by Kal-El.
