Momonosuke tell Luffy he wants to tell the other children of Caesar's true nature after overhearing him admitting to using the children as test subjects. Luffy and Momonsuke take off after the latter's hunger causes him to hallucinate Doflamingo and fly off with Luffy hanging on. Kin'emon, Usopp and Brook look for sea stone handcuffs.
After the flashback, Luffy and Chinjao prepared for their final showdown when the latter mocks Ace's death. At the ending, Luffy delivers a punch imbued with Busoshoku Haki towards Chinjao's head, which brings back his drill-shaped head back. Chinjao falls unconscious and breaks the platform into two as a result of his drill coming back.

Luffy is knocked into a stream and washes up in a pool where Hancock is bathing. Luffy and members of the Kuja Pirates defeat everyone except Ginger, who escapes using a CO2 attack which separates the Kujas from Luffy and Hancock. As Hancock asks Luffy to attend the Pirates Fest with her, they are attacked by Cidre, the Cidre Guild's commander.
Luffy and his crew ally with Trafalgar Law, now a Warlord, who plans to kidnap Caesar as part of a plan to take down Doflamingo and eventually his customer, Emperor Kaido. Having foreseen Luffy's determination, Katakuri surrenders the fight lying on his back, with Luffy covering his mouth as a sign of respect. He finds that Brûlée has escaped, but Pekoms then shows up with a recaptured Brûlée, wanting to help Luffy escape to honor Pedro's memory.
