Competition continues Monday at the Alamodome, with the state's finest marching bands in Class 6A, 4A and 2A competing to be named Texas' best.
If less than 9 bands advance to area, one round of competition is held, with either the top 2 bands (in 5A and 6A) or the top 3 bands (in 4A and lower) advancing to state. If more than 9 bands are to participate at area, a preliminary and final round are conducted, with the number of bands advancing to finals determined by contest size.
