A Bone for a Bone is a 1951 Warner Bros. Looney Tunes short directed by Friz Freleng. [1] It was released on April 7, 1951, and features the Goofy Gophers. [2]The cartoon is the first of four Goofy Gophers cartoon directed by Freleng, and would be the final work by J.B. Hardaway at the Warner Bros. Cartoons studio, having returned after almost a decade at rival studio Walter Lantz Productions.
It is composed of 270 bones at the time of birth, [2] but later decreases to 206: 80 bones in the axial skeleton and 126 bones in the appendicular skeleton. 172 of 206 bones are part of a pair and the remaining 34 are unpaired. The Goofy Gophers were revived in The Looney Tunes Show voiced by Rob Paulsen and Jess Harnell. In this show, Mac and Tosh run an antique store. The gophers appeared in the 2015 DTV movie Looney Tunes: Rabbits Run.
