Microtel by Wyndham in Baltimore. The first location opened in 1989 in suburban Rochester, New York. [2] There are now over three hundred properties around the world. [1]On July 21, 2008, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts [3] purchased US Franchise Systems, Inc., owner of the Microtel Inn & Suites and Hawthorn Suites brands, from Global Hyatt.
U.S. Franchise Systems was a franchise company that owned Microtel Inns and Suites and Hawthorn Suites. [1] It was founded in 1995 by Michael A. Leven and his nephew Neal Aronson . In March 1996, the company acquired the franchise rights to Hawthorn Suites, and acquired full ownership of the brand on March 12, 1998.

The Historic Anchorage Hotel is a hotel located at 330 E Street in Anchorage, Alaska, United States. The original Anchorage Hotel building was built in 1916; the current hotel building, which was constructed as an annex to the hotel, opened in 1936.
The building was destroyed by fire in 1952, and again in 1956. After this, owner after owner went bankrupt trying to re-establish the former glory of the Idle Hour, until 1970 when Terry Miller opened the Fancy Moose Inn. The Fancy Moose, named after Terry's wife, Fancy, was a supper club and a motel with 20 unites.
