Angier (/ ˈ æ n dʒ ɜːr / AN-jur) [4] is a town in the Black River Township of Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 4,350 at the 2010 census and estimated as of 2018 to be 5,253. Angier is a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau.

The Mills River flows into the French Broad River northwest of Hendersonville between NC 191 and Interstate 26. The North Mills River Recreation Area, located on the North Fork of the river, is a popular local attraction for camping, hiking, and fishing. The Mills River is used as a water source for the cities of Asheville and Hendersonville.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Hendersonville has a total area of 6.9 square miles (18.0 km 2), of which 0.03 square miles (0.07 km 2), or 0.40%, is water. [7] Mud Creek, a north-flowing tributary of the French Broad River and part of the Tennessee River watershed, is the watercourse through the city, passing east of downtown.
With the ongoing drought, Hendersonville's city manager has issued a Stage 2A Water Shortage Alert, which will begin at midnight on Oct. 6.
The community is situated along North Carolina Highway 55 and is the site of the Fuquay-Angier Airfield (Kennebec Flying Club). Much of the area has been recently annexed by the Harnett County town of Angier. [citation needed] Kennebec was named for Kennebec County, Maine (Powell 1968, p. 262).
