James Norwood Patterson (born February 18, 1948) is an American politician who served in the California State Assembly from 2012 to 2024. He represented the 8th district, which encompasses eastern Fresno County, including the cities of Fresno and Clovis, and a small slice of Tulare County.
It is located in the San Joaquin Valley and includes parts of Fresno County and Tulare County. Cities in the district include the majority of Fresno, the north side of Visalia, and all of Sanger, Selma, Kingsburg, Parlier, Reedley, Orange Cove, Dinuba, Orosi, Cutler, Farmersville, Woodlake and Exeter.
