Weeki Wachee Springs is a natural tourist attraction located in Weeki Wachee, Florida, where underwater performances by "mermaids", women wearing fish tails as well as other fanciful outfits, can be viewed in an aquarium-like setting in the spring of the Weeki Wachee River.
[6] [8] The actual attraction moved to a new waterfront location on Watson Island, between downtown Miami and South Beach. [7] It opened on June 28, 2003 as Parrot Jungle Island. [9] Until 2004 exotic birds were sold. [4] On June 28, 2007, four years after the park first opened at its bayfront location, Jungle Island became the official name. [10]
