Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, commonly known as SHC, is a Catholic school located in the Cathedral Hill neighborhood of San Francisco, California. Founded in 1852, Sacred Heart Cathedral is the oldest Catholic secondary school and was the first co-ed Catholic high school in San Francisco. SHC is owned by the Archdiocese of San Francisco.
In 1909, the school purchased the Van Arsdale house on Jackson Street where the school remained until 1939. In June 1939, Maud Lee Flood donated the home she had shared with her deceased husband at 2222 Broadway. During WWII, boys were allowed to join the lower school. In 1950, the school purchased the neighboring Grant house for $150,000.

Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in San Francisco is a parish of the Archdiocese of San Francisco in San Francisco, California, United States, one of four Catholic churches in San Francisco's Sunset District. [1] The church is distinctive because of its modern architecture and large size, and can be seen up the hill from nearby Ocean Beach.
The school is located in the heart of San Francisco. [8] ICA Cristo Rey became the first all-girls school in the Cristo Rey Network on August 31, 2009. [ 8 ] Since then tuition cost for parents has dropped to about one-third of what it was, with employers paying about $30,000 a year to the school for one entry-level job.
It opened in fall 1949 as Riordan High School, named after Archbishop Patrick William Riordan, the second Archbishop of San Francisco; "Archbishop" was officially added to its name in 1990. Riordan was the oldest exclusively male high school in San Francisco until it became coeducational in 2020.
The school opened in 1957 in the offices and crypt of Grace Cathedral with 10 students in 4th and 5th grades, slowly expanding to 1st through 8th grades by 1962 and opening a Kindergarten in 1972. The school reached its current size in 1995 with the addition of a second section in the Upper School grades, bringing the student body to a size of 265.
