Edward Kevin Daly (5 December 1933 – 8 August 2016) was an Irish Roman Catholic priest and author. He served as the Bishop of Derry from 1974 to 1993. Daly took part in several civil rights marches and events during the Troubles .

On Monday 8 August 2016, the retired bishop of Derry Edward Daly died at the age of 82. His remains were brought to the cathedral that evening, and over a period of two and a half days, an estimated 25,000 people came to pay their last respects to Bishop Daly's remains which lay at rest inside the cathedral on public display.
