What you can do if you want an Outlook.com email address, is to create a <NEW> Outlook.com alias email address for the account as described in Add or remove an email alias in Outlook.com

Well. From what I found out today, for my iphone 6, with software version 15.8, the only way I will be able to get my hotmail in my phone it through the browser. It says because of the authentications, I would need outlook. com app in my phone, & you have to have software version 16 or newer for outlook.com. No more using the iphone mail.
